Having to keep traveling back to town or something after every fight.or mid fight.
Its same reason I really love the backpacks or the send settler to collect loot mods. Having to keep doing that every few minutes.really takes me out of the game. Especially if you are trying a melee build and dont like VATS.Pretty sure that's not what meant. Healing being more difficult is one of the cornerstones of Horizon. You're right in that Melee is hard to do under these circumstances. However, take a step back and think about it: When you are literally bringing a knife to a gunfight, you are not expected to remain free of bullet holes.
I use Melee to combat smaller enemies that don't have firearms; Molerats, Ghouls, stuff like that. That's where it makes sense. You wouldn't realistically attack a gang of gunners sporting laser rifles using only a Machete for instance. In vanilla FO4 that's a perfectly valid strategy, but it actually shouldn't be.Carry Weight is similar in this regard: You wouldn't leave home for a loot run when you're already close to your maximum capacity. Also, there's ways around that with Horizon; see the Alpha Wrist Device for example. If you think about your approach, I'm sure you'll be able to find more fun and challenge in Horizon. Yeah im aware. But for example, carry weight, you can get around this by having a high st companion, leaving unwanted things where they are while you continue your journy.Damage.isn't this way.
It is a literal requirement to go and visit a town to heal yourself. And on survival where Fast travel isn't a thing, I found myself spending 90% of my time walking back to a place to heal myself than actually playing the game.I love everything about Horizon, I just wish it was modular so you can adapt certain parts of it into your game. For me, I like every aspect of Horizon.but that one particular change. But its such a huge influence that it makes it an unplayable mod for me.Otherwise you are really just pigoned hold into certain types of builds and strategies that offer a lot less freedom for gameplay. You can build a high HP damage absorb type character.but you will still get injured very often just because of mechanics and have this issue.
So you are kinda forced into the stealth type plays only. A combination that I love is 'War of the Commonwealth' and 'Arbitration.'
WOTC increases the number of spawns and de-levels the lists, so there are enemies EVERYWHERE.
